About me

Last year I turned 30, now I'm not saying that the big three O is the reason I've undertaken this challenge to run a marathon but maybe somewhere deep down perhaps it played a part. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to run a marathon, cycle the length of the UK, swim the channel and climb Everest. The sort of stuff you chat about down the pub and never get round to doing anything about.

In April of 2007 I travelled out to Nepal to join a trek from Lukla to the base of Mount Everest, it's as close to the top as I think I'll ever be, with 16 days of demanding trekking at high altitude it was an amazing experience.

Next on the list
Since Nepal I have focused on other things in life, my job, family, friends and more recently my fiance and planning for our wedding in the summer. Whilst I have talked about running a marathon and cycling the length of the UK it's been nothing more then pub talk until now.

I'm ready
I feel ready to take on a new challenge and the London Marathon in 2011 will be the next one. This blog will follow the trials and tribulations as I prepare mentally and physically for the challenges ahead.
